Two reviews in two days, you lucky lot!! And I’m back again with my second read by Adam Nevill. So, if you hadn’t guessed from the title I’ll be reviewing Banquet of the Damned…
My overall rating of this book is: 3.5 out of 5 stars.
I did really enjoy this one, I felt the theme, the setting, the characters were all really well introduced and evolved. The tone was set from even reading the title of the book, but instead of jumping straight into the terrors that lay within it gave a backstory – something that pleased me greatly!
Banquet of the Damned (without giving too much away!) was scary at points, it’s very hard to scare me, I do not scare easily haha, and I did go to bed feeling just a little creeped out. The link to the night terrors helped it feel more real for me.
On the whole, it was a really good book, though I did skim read parts that I felt were irrelevant to the story, hence the 3.5 stars rating.
