Hey guys! I’m back with another review of a Kindle book, I actually downloaded this one for free, as Kindle have a lot of free books, some of them are pretty crap but this one was actually a surprise! And as you can guess from the title I’ll be reviewing The Devil’s Hand by Amy Cross.
My overall rating… 3 out of 5 stars.
Set in the 1940’s at a home for women who are pregnant outside of wedlock, we meet some interesting characters, the home itself is run by a religious fanatic, an army doctor who cannot serve due to injury and the “mother hen” who looks after the girls, seems like an interesting mix, right?
The story itself was an okay read, nothing spectacular, but it did get my attention enough to want to finish it. The characters were well introduced and fleshed out, I loved Ivy, and it’s good for a Halloween read if you fancy something a bit spooky. However, I did feel that the “surprises” and twists and turns were kind of obvious which is what let the book down for me.
Have you read The Devil’s Hand? Let me know what you thought in the comments. Em xx
