Night Tides, Alex Prentiss – A Review. [SPOILERS].

What Em's Reading (4)

Aloha! I’m here again with another book review and as you likely guessed from the title it’s Night Tides written by Alex Prentiss.

My overall rating of this book is 2 out of 5 stars.

I’m not really sure what I expected reading this book, but it certainly wasn’t what I got. In fact, my biggest criticism of this book is that I’m not actually sure what the story was about.

I thought the storyline was confusing, to say the least. The spirits in the lake were introduced as being somewhat sexual without any prior explanation of them or background to them. The lakes played quite a key part of the storyline so it was disappointing that they weren’t expanded upon.

We didn’t get into the story and why these girls were being kidnapped from the streets until about 75% of the way through, by which point I just wanted to find out what was going on.

Rachel, the female lead, was just hard to like, her stubborn tendencies and independent woman routine were just too forced for my liking. As were her interactions with Ethan, her supposed love interest.

The ending was AWFUL, I actually had to sit there for a few minutes to digest how crap it was 😦

I did sort of enjoy the book, I didn’t have any urges to just stop reading and I was keen to find out what happened at the end, which is why I’ve rated it 2 out of 5.

Have you read Night Tides? Let me know what you thought I’d love to hear other peoples views. Em xx
