Bad Girl (Wicked #2), Piper Lawson – A Review. [SPOILERS].

Hey everyone! I’m back again with a review of book 2 in the Wicked series by Piper Lawson, you can read my review of book 1 right here!

I loved this one even more than the first one! We finally got more of an insight into Haley and Jax’s lives, and it helped the story to make more sense, it built a foundation that I felt was missing.

We got to see more of Serena and Haley’s friendship in this book, and I am here for it! They bounce off each other so well and the banter between the two of them made me laugh throughout the book! It was nice to see that the author could focus on more the friendship aspects too.

Bad Girl was certainly not without its twists and it made the book grow up, it suddenly became a lot more serious and prevented it from turning into a trashy romance novel. There were points I literally gasped out loud with things that had gone on!

The sexual chemistry started to grow even further between Jax and Haley, Lawson does a really good job of building it up and letting us down again just when we think we’re getting to a juicy bit! It definitely is a page turner in this respect because you keep thinking will they/won’t they…

And when we did get to the juicy bits the author didn’t make them feel cheap or overdone, it was steamy and well written, the tension finally came to a head and it was worth waiting for. One thing Lawson does is write incredible sex scenes without them seeming cringey.

On the whole, Bad Girl (Wicked #2) was excellent, it built on the foundations that the first book introduced and it really grew into itself, going from a teenage dream to something that had substance and gave the reader a range of emotions.

Until next time, Em xxx
