Good morning friends! Today is Halloween and basically one of my favourite days of the year. From when the leaves start falling off the trees I get my fave blanket out and sit and watch any horror films I can find on Netflix or the movie channels on the TV.
Last year I wrote about my favourite scary movies and my favourite scary movie quotes, which you can read by clicking here & here. So this year I’ve decided to write about my favourite horror movie villains!
1 – Jigsaw – The Saw franchise. I will forever maintain that the first Saw film plot twist is THE BEST plot twist I have ever witnessed in my life.
2 – Freddy Krueger – A Nightmare on Elm Street. Fun fact: I’ve only ever watched this entire film series through once because it terrifies me!
3 – Jason Voorhees – Friday the 13th. I think Jason is ICONIC. That’s it, that’s the statement.
4 – Leatherface – Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Leatherface, based on the real life murderer Ed Gein, makes my list too despite the Texas Chainsaw Massacre films not actually being any of my favourites.
5 – Ghostface – Scream. I have an unhealthy fear of Ghostface, like I will freak out at Halloween if we go to a party and someone is dressed like him!
6 – Hannibal Lecter – The Hannibal series. I love Dr Lecter, I think he’s one of the best horror film villains because he’s just so different.
7 – Norman Bates – Psycho. I think Norman creeps me out more because he feels realistic, more so than some of the others on this list.
8 – Pennywise – IT. I hate clowns. I hate Penneywise. But I also love him and think he’s of the best horror film characters EVER.
9 – Michael Myers – Hallowen. I think Michael Myers takes the crown for my favourite horror villain, just his presence sends shivers down my spine.
10 – Pinhead – Hellraiser. I’ve picked Pinhead because even though I’m not a huge fan of Hellraiser there’s something about Pinhead that puts the fear of god into me lmao.
I will of course be sharing something on actual Halloween too but I hope you enjoyed reading my list of my fave horror movie villains, I think it’s a pretty even toss up between literally every single one of these characters and they’re all my faves for different reasons!
