Me and Mr Jones, Lucy Diamond – A Review.

Hello bookworms and friends! I’m here with a feel good romance review that I read in one sitting! It’s Me and Mr Jones by Lucy Diamond and you can read the synopsis here.

Overall rating 4 out of 5 stars.

From the get go I knew I would absolutely adore this book, it had a gorgeous cover and just made me feel so happy and warm and fuzzy! It reminded me of the beach and sunshine and happy things – now when I read this book it was peeing down in England so it was a very welcome change!

I did feel a little overwhelmed with the way the story started, we were introduced to A LOT of characters at once and it was quite hard to keep track of everyone, but once the story progressed we got to know these characters individually, with whole chapters focusing on them, which really helped.

There wasn’t a main character that I didn’t love, they were all so different and each brought something new to the story that only added value. They were all different in personality, from different backgrounds and this gave Me and Mr Jones a real family vibe.

It was such a simple read premise and super easy to read, but it never felt boring. Because of the number of characters within the book, who all had their own issues and lives and families, the book didn’t feel like it slowed down.

And it touched upon quite a few issues that were well discussed and written – I don’t want to give too much away but there were sensitive topics that were handled well. (T/W for domestic violence and fertility issues).

I loved how Me and Mr Jones had a happy ending, it was just what was needed to tie everything off and actually brought a few tears to my eyes!

The only disappointment I had in this book is that we didn’t get an epilogue for each couple, I thought that would have been a really nice touch to see how they were all getting on with their lives.

Other than that I could not fault Me and Mr Jones, it was a truly gorgeous book and made me feel very happy and fuzzy inside!

Until next time, Em xxx
