Up Close & Personal, Kathryn Freeman – A Review.

Hello fellow bloggers and bookworms! I’m here today to share my 10 thoughts whilst reading Up Close & Personal by Kathryn Freeman, you can read the synopsis on Goodreads here.

I’ve decided to do 10 thoughts while reading because I feel like my review of this one would have been a little thin on the ground. So anyway, here we go!

Overall rating – 4 out of 5 stars.

1 – From the start I knew I was going to be drawn in by our main characters, Zac and Kat. They’re both interesting characters and they dynamic of Kat being his bodyguard… *swoon*

2 – I also felt that both characters had a really good, well fleshed out back story to them. It definitely helped me form more of an attachment to them both.

3 – I loved the slower pace of this book, because every time something happened that stopped them from getting together it prolonged the story and I wanted to keep reading more about them and their relationship!

4 – This was such an easy book to read, but in a good way! The writing was high quality and the plot was interesting so I just got sucked in and went along with the flow of the plot.

5 – The way that the relationship progressed throughout the story and how they both wanted it to progress but things kept holding them back, omg I just love those kinds of books.

6 – The idea of Kat’s sister being in rehab and Zac having a stalker somehow made this book feel more real. It brought real life issues into the story and helped not only our characters feel more 3D and as if they had a life and dreams and hopes, it also helped the book feel more interesting and in depth. It added that extra layer that elevated this book.

7 – The whole plot actually was really refreshing and different.

8 – And the intrigue that the author built up, how it was clear Kat and Zac were hiding not only their feelings from each other but vital pieces of information that would explain why they both couldn’t admit their feelings, it was excellently done!

9 – I had the BIGGEST GRIN on my face through the last few chapters of this book, I honestly could feel my cheeks splitting!

10 – I just loved Up Close & Personal. It had everything that I love in a romance novel, and the joy I got from reading this book was indescribable.

And there you have it, I was really pleasantly surprised by this one, I wasn’t holding out much hope for it but even after the first few chapters I knew I was going to love it and I was right! I was truly sucked into this book, and it even featured some of my fave tropes, which definitely helped my enjoyment!

Let me know if you’ve read this one though, and what you thought of it!

Until next time, Em xxx
